TTG Automation Hosts Ida Middle School Students on Manufacturing Day

Oct. 8, 2019 – TTG Automation (TTGA), a Tooling Tech Group company hosted a class of eight grade students from Ida Middle School as part of Monroe County’s Manufacturing Day activities, designed to help youth gain a better understanding of manufacturing and the opportunities that exist to work in this field.

As part of their experience, Tyson Stoll, TTGA general manager, led the students on a facility tour explaining the various areas of operations including engineering, machining, assembly, sales and administrative functions. In the machining area, students were guided through the job sequence of a CNC machine and saw the metal cutting process in action.

After the tour, students were provided lunch in the company conference room where they viewed two videos, providing them insight into the history of automation and its impact on society, as well as the growing use of robots in industrial applications. This information helps students to understand that modern manufacturing requires a high level of creativity and a variety of skill sets.
